25 minutes from our campsite – Between the Mediterranean and the southern Alps, the pretty medieval city of Grasse leans against the mountain, at an altitude of around 350 metres. For two hundred years, the city of Grasse has proudly proclaimed itself the “World Capital of Perfumery”. A magnificent museum dedicated to the art of perfume, occupying an area of more than 3800m2, showcases lavish collections. You can visit three establishments, “Fragonard, Galimard and Molinard” to see their production facilities and even buy the products that you have followed through the various stages of production.
20 minutes from the campsite – Vence is a real gem which has had the fortune, or the determination, to maintain its true charm and essence. A kind of magic; a timeless grace envelopes this charming and special town. Many artists have tried to capture the incredible countryside and its many colours on canvas: Matisse, Dufy, Chagall, Dubuffet, Soutine, Carzou… and countless others.
TheVence area is one of the most beautiful in the French Riviera to explore through the streets of the historic centre which have protected its character. In the small shaded squares or on the sunny terraces, you can discover the Vence cuisine which is rich in good olive oil, garlic, thyme, wild thyme, savoury (herb)…
15 minutes from the campsite – When you visit Tourrettes-sur-Loup you will explore a charming medieval village with pretty little alleyways, arched passageways with carefully restored old stone facades and staircases lined with flowers. It is called the City of Violets in tribute to the flower that has been grown there for almost a century.
35 minutes from the campsite – You can see it from our campsite nestled on the mountainside. Built on a rocky platform at an altitude of 760m Gourdon looks out over La Vallée du Loup, with an unbeatable panoramic view, sprawling over 80km from Nice to Théoule. This isolated rock, nicknamed “the eagle’s nest”, was a place of refuge and defence in ancient times. From Place Victoria, the main square, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama over the entire Riviera, with breath-taking breadth and depth, and colours that change with every hour and every season.
